Your tasks:

Key responsibilities include understanding SAP as a software solution and helping SMR to successfully utilize the software to run all aspects of the business. Other responsibilities will include developing detailed functional specifications, programming specifications, testing plans and deployment strategies for non SAP systems. Finally an SAPBA for SMR will also be assisting the business in the development of procedures and practices to support business non-technical areas of the business. In addition, a SAPBA may also need to support our development teams by assisting with and participating in all software development efforts where appropriate.

Your profile:

A SAP Business Analyst position reports to the Information Technology Manager. This position within the SMR organization involves managing projects of varying complexity by following a project management methodology. These projects can include package selection, custom development, infrastructure development and general projects. The SAPBA will be responsible for seeing that each project becomes a success. This activity includes development of project schedules, coordination of resources, assigning tasks and ensuring all internal project related procedures are followed.

As part of the SMR IT group, the SAP Business Analyst must be a team player and will continually strive to develop as a leader and mentor---as a role model in the corporation and profession, while managing projects within budgetary and scheduling constraints. SMR’s IT group succeeds and fails as a team, not as an individual. This is critical to our success and is at the foundation of our department’s growth and success.

(Project Leadership)

--- Be Subject Matter Expert on SAP, business process and integrations

--- Work with users and departments with SAP Transactions and procedural issues

--- Work with users and departments for testing and training exercises

--- Track projects from inception to completion as required

--- Work with vendors on both information gathering and system proposals

--- Work with users and departments as a liaison to other IT resources

--- Lead the business in software selection projects

--- Assist in cost justification studies

--- Gain industry expertise

(Technical Duties)

--- Assist business in the definition of SAP interfaces and design using BAPI and SAP Workflows

--- Guide business by applying industry and application best practices

--- Define and document application requirements articulated by users

--- Test and Approve all software to be deployed to the business

--- Identify business processes and translate to an IT technical design

--- Integrate package solutions to existing applications

--- Identify migration paths and approaches to new systems

--- Structure database designs

--- Evaluate optional programming techniques for appropriate usage

--- Monitor system performance

--- Evaluate hardware requirements

--- Maintain technical skill set

--- Assist in troubleshooting of application problems

--- Assist in applying vendor provided software corrections, upgrades and new releases

--- Assist in programming tasks as required by IT related projects

--- Provide technical services for hardware, application software, database administration

and other technical duties as assigned

--- Participate in Plant Support ‘on-call’ rotation
